The Takahe Collective Trust is a non-profit organisation that aims to support emerging and published writers, poets, artists and cultural commentators.

The Takahē magazine appears three times a year and publishes short stories, poetry and art by established and emerging writers and artists as well as essays and interviews (by invitation), and book reviews in these related areas.

News:

Takahē 77, the Summer 2012 issue, is now available. Readers will find further changes to the design and layout in this magazine. These have been made possible by the support of Creative New Zealand. We hope the contemporary, reader-friendly style will enhance your reading enjoyment. To view the contents, click here, or on the cover image below.

Results of the 2012 competitions: the 2012 Takahē Cultural Studies Competition, and the 2012 Takahē Poetry Competition, are included; and an announcement is presented of the
        2013 Takahē Short Story Competition.

Please Note: the 2013 Takahē Short Story Competition closes on the 31 March.

There are only a few weeks until the deadline
so hone those stories and get them in.
