The Takahe Collective Trust is a non-profit organisation that aims to support emerging and published writers, poets, artists and cultural commentators.
The takahē magazine appears three times a year and publishes short stories, poetry and art by established and emerging writers and artists as well as essays and interviews (by invitation), and book reviews in these related areas.
takahē 79, August 2013, is now available. Readers will find further changes to the design and layout in this magazine. These have been made possible by the support of Creative New Zealand. We hope the contemporary, reader-friendly style will enhance your reading enjoyment. To view the contents, click here, or on the cover image below.
An announcement of the 2013 takahē Poetry Competition is included; so it is time to finalise that elusive rhymn or rythym and get your entries submitted. Also awaiting is the 2013 takahē Cultural Studies Competition; but please note the change of submission dates. Click for conditions and entry form. The results of the 2013 takahē Short Story Competition are now available.
