The Takahe Collective Trust is a non-profit organisation that aims to support emerging and published writers, poets, artists and cultural commentators.

The Takahē magazine appears three times a year and publishes short stories, poetry and art by established and emerging writers and artists as well as essays and interviews (by invitation), and book reviews in these related areas.

News:

Takahē has offered two competitions this year: the 2011 Takahē Short Story Competition (now closed), and the 2011 Takahē Poetry Competition. The results of the Short Story competition are in Takahē 73, and the results of the Poetry competition will be in Takahē 74.

Takahē 73, the Winter 2011 issue, is now available. To view the contents, click here, or on the cover image below.

Takahē 72 introduced a change in our publication of book reviews. To maximise the space available within Takahē for our authors and poets, only a small sample of reviews will be printed; however, all reviews will be published on our website. To view the reviews, click on the Reviews link provided in the issue's contents on this site.

Takahe Collective Trust now has a new home on the internet. Please take note of the new web address:   http://www.takahe.org.nz   or   http://www.takahē.org.nz
