Takahē appears three times a year, in April, August and December. Within New Zealand most main public libraries and university libraries have recent copies on display, and smaller libraries can usually supply them on request.

Annual subscriptions are for three issues, mailed within New Zealand, or mailled (by economy airmail) to any overseas location. Pre-paid subscriptions for 2 years are available at a discounted rate.

Current rates are:
      New Zealand:   $30.00 (1 year)       $55.00 (2 years)
      Overseas:    NZ$40.00 (1 year)   NZ$75.00 (2 years).

Limited stock of back copies (up to Takahē 68) are available: NZ$10.00 each.

Limited stock of back copies (from Takahē 69) are available:  NZ$15.00 each.
